Apni Chat Apna Ghar Scheme: 1.5 Million Loan Released & Status Check

The Apni Chat Apna Ghar (My Roof, My Home) scheme has officially moved from the registration phase to the disbursement phase. As of late December 2025, the Punjab Government has released over Rs. 10 Billion to fund the first batch of homeowners.

If you are looking to build your dream home with an interest-free loan and pay back in easy installments of just Rs. 14,000 per month, here is everything you need to know.

1. Latest Updates (December 2025)

  • Funds Released: On December 27, 2025, the Punjab government released a massive tranche of funds to support the construction of over 70,000 homes currently underway.
  • Balloting Complete: Phase 1 balloting has been completed for major cities. Winners are now receiving the first installment of their loans.
  • Construction Started: According to official data, over 45,000 homes are already near completion, with another 70,000 under construction.

2. The Deal: Interest-Free Loan Details

The most popular part of this scheme is Execution Model 3 (Interest-Free Loan), designed for people who already own a small plot but have no money to build.

  • Total Loan Amount: Up to Rs. 1.5 Million (15 Lakh).
  • Interest Rate: 0% (Zero Interest).
  • Monthly Installment: Approx. Rs. 14,000.
  • Repayment Tenure: Up to 9 Years (To make the Rs. 14k installment feasible).
  • Hidden Charges: None. No service charges or processing fees.

3. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the loan, you must meet these simple requirements:

  1. Residency: Permanent resident of Punjab (CNIC holder).
  2. Property Ownership:
  • Urban Areas: You must own a plot of 5 Marla or less.
  • Rural Areas: You must own a plot of 10 Marla or less.
  1. Income: You should be from a low-to-middle income household.
  2. No Existing House: You or your spouse must not already own a concrete (pucca) house elsewhere.

4. How to Check Your Status (Balloting Results)

If you have already applied, follow these steps to see if you were selected in the recent balloting:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to acag.punjab.gov.pk.
  2. Login: Enter your CNIC and password created during registration.
  3. Check Dashboard: Look for the "Application Status" tab.
  • "Approved/Selected": Congratulations! You will soon receive an SMS for biometric verification and fund release.
  • "In Process": Your application is being verified or is on the waiting list for the next batch.
  • "Not Selected": You may re-apply in Phase 2 (expected 2026).

5. How to Apply (New Applicants)

While Phase 1 is currently closing out, the portal remains the central hub for future phases.

  1. Register: Click on the "Register" button on the top right of the website.
  2. Fill Form: Complete the Citizen Registration form with your Name, CNIC, Phone Number, and Address.
  3. Upload Documents:
  • CNIC Copy (Front/Back).
  • Proof of Land Ownership (Fard/Registry).
  • Proof of Income.
  1. Submit: Click "Save & Next" to submit your application.
Pro Tip: Ensure your land documents are computerized and up-to-date. Manual registries often cause delays in verification.

6. Why This Scheme is Different?

Unlike previous housing schemes that required huge down payments, Apni Chat Apna Ghar is built on trust and affordability.

  • No Down Payment: You don't need to pay a large sum upfront.
  • Revolving Fund: The money returned by you (Rs. 14k/month) goes back into the fund to help another family build their home next year.
