However, two of the richest regions in Italy—Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna—offer their own massive regional scholarships known as EDISU and ERGO, respectively.

1. Who is Eligible?

Both EDISU and ERGO are "Need-Based" scholarships. This means your academic grades (CGPA) matter less than your financial situation. To be eligible, you must prove that your family is low-income.

Specifically, your ISEE Parificato (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) must fall below the regional threshold (usually around €25,000 to €27,000). For most students from South Asia, Africa, and South America, falling below this threshold is practically guaranteed.

2. Required Documents (The Holy Trinity)

To calculate your ISEE Parificato, you need three critical documents from your home country. These must be translated into Italian and legalized by the Italian Embassy/Consulate (or apostilled):

• Family Composition Certificate: FRC or equivalent showing who lives in your household.
• Family Income Certificate: Proof of income for all working family members for the previous calendar year.
• Property Certificate: A document showing the square meters of the house your family owns (or a rental agreement).

3. Application Deadlines & Strategy
