How Grade Conversion Works

How is the German Grade calculated?

We use the standard Bavarian Formula (Modifizierte Bayerische Formel). In Germany, 1.0 is the highest possible grade, and 4.0 is the minimum passing grade. Anything below 4.0 (up to 5.0) is considered a fail.

Why does my 75% equal a 3.5+ US GPA?

In many South Asian and UK systems, scoring above 70% is considered exceptionally difficult and equates to an "A" grade (or First-Class Honours). The US system grading is less deflated, where 90%+ is typically an A. Our tool accounts for these regional deflation metrics.

Is this tool official?

This tool provides highly accurate estimations based on WES (World Education Services) and DAAD conversion guidelines. However, universities always conduct their own official credential evaluations during the admission process.
